YMC-Pack CN can be used for both normal phase and reversed phase analyses due to the medium polarity of the cyanopropyl phase bonded to the silica base particle It can be used in normal phase with low-polarity mobile phases such as hexane or in reversed phase with highly-polar mobile phases such as methanol and water YMC-Pack CN can be useful for shortening analysis time in situations where retention is substantial using C18 or C8 or when separation optimization is difficult
